Wuhan awarded with “China's Software-Featured City”

Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province, was awarded with the title of “China's Software-Featured City”, approved by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China.
Featured with “Internet Plus”, Wuhan is the first software-renowned city in central China. And Suzhou and Xiamen were also on the list.
The selection of “China's Software-Featured City” requires multiple indicators, including the industry scale being no less than 100 billion yuan; the proportion of software industry being no less than 10 percent; the market share of leading enterprises ranking the top three among the same industry in China, etc.
In 2013, Wuhan became a pilot city for the establishment of “China's Software-Featured City”, which witnessed the Wuhan Best City, the Optics Valley Software Park and the Optics Valley Financial Harbour became important places for software companies.
In 2018, Wuhan’s revenue in software business exceeded 180 billion yuan, with an average annual growth rate surpassing 30 percent. The number of Wuhan’s enterprises with the software revenue exceeding 100 million yuan reached 250.
Currently, Wuhan has embraced four software industry clusters of “Internet Plus”, namely, optical communication embedded software, geospatial information and information security, as a cradle of four enterprises listed on China’s software top 100, four enterprises listed on China’s Internet Top 100 as well as five unicorn Internet enterprises.（hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
