Indian Ambassador to China attends celebrations of International Day of Yoga in Wuhan

On June 17, 500 yoga enthusiasts from China and India took part in the celebrations of the fifth International Day of Yoga at the Yellow Crane Tower Park in Wuhan, capital city of central China’s Hubei Province. The Indian Ambassador to China Vikram Misri attended the event and delivered a speech.
The event opened with a 10-minute performance by nine Indian yoga masters. Then, the 500 enthusiasts, guided by the Indian yoga masters, staged a group performance on the grand square in front of the Yellow Crane Tower.
Actually, it is Ambassador Misri’s second visit to Wuhan this year with the first time in April. At the opening ceremony, he expressed his gratitude to local government for suggesting this historic location to celebrate yoga, an ancient treasure and India's gift to the world.
The International Day of Yoga falls on June 21 every year. Celebrations of the Day was launched in 2015. In addition to Wuhan, this year's International Day of Yoga celebrations will also go to Guiyang, Henan and Qingdao as well as other Chinese cities. (hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
