On December 2, the Hubei-New Zealand Friendship Bridge was unveiled in Rewi Alley's hometown during the 120th anniversary of his birth. The Governor General of New Zealand and students from Hubei attended the unveiling ceremony.

Rewi Alley, born in 1897, dedicated 60 years of his life to the national independence of China. He has visited Honghu City of Hubei for five times since 1932 to help local people fight against floods, provide disaster relief, and promote friendship between Hubei and New Zealand. .

The friendship bridge is located in the Jingsi Garden of Chamberlain Park, Amberley Town, which was jointly built by China and New Zealand to commemorate the 120th anniversary of Rewi Alley’s birth. (hubei.gov.cn)
