Wuhan to hold cross-Strait economic cooperation activity

BEIJING -- The 16th Taiwan week will be held in Wuhan, capital city of central Hubei Province, from July 8 to 12 to promote economic cooperation between Hubei and Taiwan, a Chinese mainland spokesperson said Wednesday.

An Fengshan, spokesperson for the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, said the activity aims to share development opportunities of Hubei with Taiwan compatriots and promote high-quality development in Hubei.

It will focus on high technology industries including intelligent manufacturing, biological medicine and energy conservation, said An, adding that more than 800 guests will attend the activity.

The Taiwan week in Wuhan was initiated in 2004.
