Autonomous patrol cars introduced for 7th Military World Games

Ten self-driving police patrol cars have been introduced by local police to take over some patrolling duties inside the athletes' village and venues of the 7th Military World Games, local media said on October 12.

These four-wheeled robots can identify situations whenever people nearby wave for help or guidance. They also enable people to make one-button calls to the police.

Equipped with eight cameras and sensors, the robots can capture panoramic images and send date back to the police in no time.

The robots weigh 400kg each and can run for 8 hours once fully charged, with a cruising speed of up to 15 km/h.( by Zhang Yawei)
