5th East Lake Forum on Global Governance inaugurated in Wuhan
The 5th East Lake Forum on Global Governance was inaugurated on November 16, in Wuhan, capital of central China’s Hubei Province, gathering more than 150 scholars from 10 countries and regions including China, Germany, Malaysia, Morocco and India.
Themed with “The Belt and Road and Global Governance", the forum featured a plenary lecture,four keynote speeches and three parallel forums.
Prof. Ouyang Kang, dean of the Institute of State Governance of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, delivered a report on changes in global governance and opportunities of the Belt and Road.
The signing ceremony of the Agreement of Think Tank Alliance between China and Malaysia was also held.
Hubei plays an important role in the Belt and Road. By the end of 2018, the number of Fortune 500 companies in Hubei has reached 280, with its foreign investment ranking first in central China. Hubei’s total imports and exports with the countries along the Belt and Road have amounted to 12.4 billion.（hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
